I grew up in a small town in CT, where cows were more prevalent than school children... Since this story is already too cliche, lets skip ahead to the juicier information:

I spent all of college either on the soccer field, competing, in the library, studying my sciences, or in my fraternity, drinking non-alcoholic beverages. Ever since high school, I had a love for the biologies and the chemistries and all the really nerdy science subjects. In college, the hated Organic Chemistry was one of my favorite courses and Thermodynamics intrigued me. I spent every fall collegiate weekend either traveling to another college or staying on our home turf, trying desperately to increase our national ranking. It wasn’t until early in my junior year when I was forced to take an art requirement, aka Acting 101, that this hypothetical ‘acting bug’ bit me again.

My brother is a year older than I. He was in high school. I was in 8th grade. He wasn’t into theater, but since all his friends were and I was the clingy little brother who tagged along everywhere, I was asked to film all the performances of the local high school’s Grease. Though this is going to sound cheesy, it is actually true. When that curtain opened for the first time, I had to hold myself back from jumping on stage with the actors. Not long after that unexpected impetus, or that ‘bite’ if you will, I was shipped off to a private boarding school for athletic purposes. I became a triathlete and theater was out of the question.

My first audition went surprisingly well. After Acting 101, my college had auditions for their spring show. I was cast. My acting career would have stopped abruptly if I didn’t become part of that production. I continued taking classes, continued being in shows, and soon found myself giving up medical school to go to the Atlantic Theater Company’s conservatory for acting.

Now that Atlantic is behind me, I can be found competing in triathlons, playing soccer on the Pier 40 rooftop, taking classes or seminars at various networks or simply writing another play or script while not on stage or set. My theater company, Red Wheelbarrow Productions, also takes a good chunk of time out of my day, especially when we are prepping for a show. Please feel free to e-mail or call me about anything. I’m very garrulous. I won’t bite. Unlike that stupid acting bug.
